Hoosiers Dominate Lions at Assembly Hall in Men's Basketball Showdown

In a commanding display of basketball, the Indiana Hoosiers defeated the North Alabama Lions with a final score of 83-66. The Hoosiers' season record now stands at an impressive 1-0, while the Lions fall to 0-1.

At Assembly Hall, home to the Indiana Hoosiers, fans witnessed a game where their team took control from the start and never looked back. The first half saw the Hoosiers put up 43 points against the Lions' 34. Continuing their dominance into the second half, they added another 40 points to seal their victory with an overall score of 83.


The Indiana squad showcased a balanced attack with significant contributions across various statistical categories. They shot an impressive fifty-three percent from field goal range and were even more lethal from beyond the arc, hitting twelve three-pointers at a fifty percent clip. Inside scoring was also a strong point for them as they notched thirty-two points in paint.

Defensively, both teams were evenly matched with four blocks each. However, it was in steals where Indiana edged out North Alabama by one for a total of seven steals during the game. This defensive effort contributed to twelve points off turnovers for Indiana compared to only seven by North Alabama.


The playmaking ability of Indiana was on full display as well; they amassed twenty-five assists which is nearly double that of North Alabama's twelve assists. This facilitated ball movement led to better scoring opportunities and showcased their teamwork on court.

Rebounding was another area where both teams were neck-and-neck with each grabbing thirty-four rebounds throughout the contest. But it was how each team capitalized on those rebounds that made a difference – Indiana managed ten second-chance points over nine by North Alabama.


Indiana also demonstrated better discipline by committing fewer personal fouils (thirteen) compared to sixteen by North Alabama and maintained fewer turnovers (ten) than their opponents who had thirteen.
