At Assembly Hall, the home crowd witnessed the Indiana Hoosiers put up an impressive performance against their rivals. The team's offensive efforts were led by their ability to convert on two-point attempts at a 51 percent success rate and maintain a solid field goal percentage of 46 throughout the game. Their defensive prowess was on display as well, amassing eight blocks and securing 45 rebounds over their opponents.

The Hoosiers' tactical execution was evident in their distribution of the ball which resulted in 18 assists, showcasing their collaborative gameplay. Despite turning over the ball 11 times, they managed to keep control of the pace for most parts of the game. Their points in paint totaled to an imposing figure of 32, indicating strong inside play.

On defense, they limited second-chance opportunities for the Hawkeyes by out-rebounding them offensively with ten rebounds to seven and defensively with twenty-seven rebounds to nineteen. This rebounding advantage contributed significantly to maintaining their lead.

The Iowa Hawkeyes showed resilience especially during fast breaks where they scored nineteen points but struggled from beyond the arc with only a twenty-seven percent completion rate on three-point attempts. They were more successful from free throw line hitting eighty-four percent but it wasn't enough to overcome Indiana's consistent scoring.

A key factor that kept Iowa within reach was their low turnover count at three compared to eleven by Indiana; however, it did not translate into enough points off turnovers as they only managed twelve compared to five by Indiana.

As fans look ahead, they can mark their calendars for when The Indiana Hoosiers will take on Penn State Nittany Lions at Assembly Hall in Bloomington on February 3rd at noon Eastern Time. This upcoming matchup will be broadcasted nationally on Fox Sports 1 channel two hundred nineteen for fans who wish to follow along from afar or cannot make it into Assembly Hall which promises another exciting college basketball experience.
