Iowa Hawkeyes VS Nebraska Cornhuskers

From tip-off, it was clear that Iowa was in fine form. The team's offensive execution was particularly impressive, with a total of 30 assists showcasing their ability to share and move the ball effectively. This teamwork led to high-percentage shots which paid off; they shot an impressive 52 percent from field goals and an even more remarkable 43 percent from beyond the arc. Their three-point shooting was especially lethal, as they made 15 out of 35 attempts.

The Hawkeyes also demonstrated their speed and agility by scoring 16 fast break points, emphasizing their ability to capitalize on turnovers and transition quickly from defense to offense. Speaking of turnovers, Iowa managed to keep theirs low with only six for the entire game compared to eight by Nebraska.

On defense, both teams had five steals each; however, it was Iowa's ability to convert these opportunities into points that stood out. They scored eight points off turnovers while limiting Nebraska's chances by allowing only seven points from similar situations.

Rebounding is often a critical factor in basketball games and this matchup was no different. The Hawkeyes edged out Nebraska with a total rebound count of 36 against Nebraska’s 34 rebounds. Moreover, they grabbed nine offensive boards which contributed to twelve second-chance points.

Nebraska did put up some resistance though; they excelled inside with an outstanding seventy percent shooting on two-point attempts leading them to score forty-six points in paint compared to thirty-two by Iowa.

As for individual performances for Iowa – although specific players are not mentioned – it can be inferred that there were significant contributions across the board given their high assist count and evenly spread scoring load.

Looking ahead after this emphatic win at home in front of nearly ten thousand fans at Carver-Hawkeye Arena (9,670 attendance), fans can catch up with future action when the Iowa Hawkeyes visit Williams Arena in Minneapolis for their next game against Minnesota Golden Gophers on January 15th at noon Central Time (CT).
