Hawkeyes' Standout Performances


The Iowa Hawkeyes demonstrated remarkable offensive prowess throughout the game. Payton Sandfort led his team with an outstanding 30 points, contributing significantly to Iowa's total score. His performance was complemented by Josh Dix who added 21 points to the scoreboard. Both players showcased exceptional shooting accuracy; Sandfort hit an impressive 62 percent from beyond the arc while Dix managed a solid 59 percent field goal percentage.


Drew Thelwell also made notable contributions with 12 points and six assists, highlighting his role as a key playmaker for Iowa. His ability to facilitate scoring opportunities played a crucial part in keeping his team competitive throughout the match.


Illinois Fighting Illini's Balanced Attack

The Fighting Illini capitalized on turnovers effectively scoring nine points off turnovers compared to seventeen by Iowa but managed more second-chance points (17) thanks largely due to their offensive rebounding effort which stood at fourteen against seven by Iowa.
