The Iowa State Cyclones emerged victorious with a commanding performance against the Florida A&M Rattlers at the James H. Hilton Coliseum, finishing with a score of 96-58. The Cyclones' record now stands at an impressive 1-0, while the Rattlers fell to 0-1.

From tip-off, the Cyclones set an aggressive pace that would define the game. By halftime, they had already established a solid lead with 44 points against the Rattlers' 24. The second half saw no let-up from Iowa State as they piled on another 52 points to secure their win.

The home team's offensive execution was clinical; they shot an impressive field goal percentage of sixty percent and were equally effective from beyond the arc, hitting fifty percent of their three-point attempts. Their two-point field goal percentage was notable as well, standing at sixty-four percent.

Defensively, Iowa State was just as dominant. They racked up fifteen steals over the course of play and blocked three shots from Florida A&M. This defensive pressure contributed to a staggering thirty-one points off turnovers for Iowa State compared to only seven for Florida A&M.

Iowa State also demonstrated superior ball movement and teamwork with twenty-four assists leading to many open shots and high-percentage scoring opportunities. This teamwork resulted in an assist-to-turnover ratio of five which starkly contrasted with Florida A&M's ratio of one.

Florida A&M struggled throughout the game but showed resilience in their effort on rebounds by collecting thirty-six compared to Iowa State's thirty rebounds overall; however, this did not translate into control over the game flow or scoreboard impact.

The Rattlers did manage to make ten three-pointers but were less efficient overall from both two-point range (forty-two percent) and free throw line (fifty-seven percent). Their fourteen assists were overshadowed by twenty-three turnovers which proved costly against a disciplined Cyclones defense.

Looking ahead for fans of Iowa State basketball: The next challenge will be hosting Eastern Illinois Panthers at James H. Hilton Coliseum on December 21st at 7:00 PM local time (Central Time Zone). Fans can catch all action live on ESPN+, ensuring they don't miss any part of what promises to be another exciting matchup for their team.
