In what was a showcase of defensive tenacity and offensive efficiency, the Iowa State Cyclones emerged victorious over their hosts at Fifth Third Arena. The game saw the Cyclones maintain consistent scoring across both halves, putting up 34 points in each to secure their win. Their performance from within the paint was particularly dominant, contributing 36 points to their total tally.

The defense of Iowa State was nothing short of impressive as they racked up 12 steals throughout the game which played a crucial role in disrupting Cincinnati's flow on offense. These takeaways were pivotal as they led to 26 points off turnovers for the Cyclones – showcasing their ability to capitalize on their opponent's mistakes.

On top of that, ball distribution for Iowa State proved effective with an equal number of assists to steals (12), indicating a well-rounded team effort on offense. Their shooting accuracy from two-point range stood at an impressive 56 percent success rate; however, they struggled beyond the arc converting only five out of eighteen attempts which rounded off to about 28 percent from three-point territory.

Free throws were another area where Iowa State excelled – sinking seven out of eight attempts and achieving an outstanding accuracy rate close to 88 percent. This precision from the charity stripe helped them maintain distance down the stretch.

Rebounding was more challenging for Iowa State as they gathered just nine offensive boards compared to Cincinnati's fifteen but managed fifteen defensive rebounds contributing towards twenty-four total rebounds for them during this contest.

Looking ahead after this hard-fought battle on court, fans can anticipate seeing whether or not this momentum will carry forward when Iowa State takes on Texas Tech Red Raiders next. The upcoming match is scheduled for February 17 at James H. Hilton Coliseum in Ames and will be broadcasted online via ESPN+. Fans are encouraged to tune in as these two teams face off once again in what promises another exciting college basketball showdown.
