The Iowa State Cyclones showcased a dynamic offense with a notable three-point shooting accuracy of 53 percent, sinking nine from beyond the arc. Their overall field goal percentage stood at 42 percent with 23 made shots out of 55 attempts. Despite trailing at halftime with only 23 points to Houston's 28, they rallied back to add an additional impressive tally of points in the second half.

Iowa State's defense managed two blocks and five steals during the game but struggled to contain Houston's offense which was particularly effective from inside the paint and from the free-throw line where they shot for a solid percentage of success. The Cyclones committed fewer personal fouls than their opponents (21 compared to Houston’s 18) and were able to keep all players on court without any foulouts or ejections.

On individual performances, Iowa State players worked cohesively as reflected by their total assists count which stood at an impressive number. They also capitalized on turnovers by scoring nine points off them while securing more total rebounds than Houston with a count that included both offensive and defensive boards.

Despite these efforts, turnovers proved costly for Iowa State as they gave up possession times throughout the game which translated into points for Houston. Additionally, while Iowa State excelled in three-point shooting, they struggled inside with only percent success rate on two-point attempts.

Looking ahead after this tough loss away from home, fans can find solace knowing that Iowa State will return to familiar territory for their next matchup. The Cyclones are set to host West Virginia Mountaineers at James H. Hilton Coliseum in Ames on February 24th at PM local time (Eastern Time). This encounter will be broadcasted nationally on ESPN2 channel . Supporters can look forward to cheering on their team as they seek redemption following this recent setback.
