First Half

The first half saw the Jayhawks establishing dominance early on with a strong offensive display. They managed to score 44 points, capitalizing on their effective field goal percentage of 51 percent. The Clones struggled to find their rhythm offensively, managing only 23 points in response. Despite an impressive defensive effort with Jamarion Batemon contributing four steals, the Clones couldn't close the gap.

Second Half

In the second half, Iowa State showed resilience and improved performance by scoring 40 points. Tamin Lipsey led this charge with his playmaking abilities, recording five assists and adding ten points to his name. However, despite their efforts and outscoring Kansas in this period by matching their point total of 40 for that half alone, they were unable to overcome the deficit from earlier.
