The game was held at Foster Pavilion in Waco, Texas before an energetic crowd of 7,500 spectators. The Jayhawks displayed remarkable accuracy from two-point range with a shooting percentage of sixty-two percent and managed to convert fifty-five percent of their field goal attempts overall. Their free throw performance was also strong as they made seventy-five percent of their shots from the line.

The Kansas offense was facilitated by distributing eighteen assists over the course of the game which contributed significantly to their scoring efforts. They were particularly dominant in scoring within the paint, recording forty-six points in that area. Additionally, they capitalized on turnovers by scoring seventeen points off Baylor's mistakes.

Defensively, both teams were active with Kansas recording five blocks and five steals during play. However, personal fouls proved costly for them as one player fouled out during intense gameplay.

On Baylor's side, they showed resilience and took advantage of fast breaks to score fifteen points quickly against Kansas' defense. Their three-point shooting was more effective than that of Kansas', hitting forty-one percent from beyond the arc compared to thirty-one percent for their opponents.

Baylor also had a stronger presence under both baskets with thirty-one total rebounds compared to twenty-three by Kansas; this included securing more offensive rebounds which led to eleven second-chance points for Baylor versus nine for Kansas.

As conference play continues its heated pace toward March Madness, fans are already looking forward to what promises to be another exciting matchup when the Jayhawks host their next game against rivals Kansas State Wildcats at Allen Fieldhouse in Lawrence on March 5th at 8:00 PM local time (Central Time). This encounter will be broadcasted live on ESPN for fans who wish to follow all action-packed moments as these two teams face off once again.
