Wildcats Clawed by Cornhuskers: Kansas State Falls to Nebraska in Home Court Battle

The Kansas State Wildcats faced a challenging contest at Bramlage Coliseum, ending with a score of 62-46 in favor of the visiting Nebraska Cornhuskers. The Wildcats now stand with an unaltered rank, while the Cornhuskers also maintain their position without a rank. The home team's effort was not enough to secure victory, despite their valiant attempts throughout the game.

Kansas State started strong with 34 points in the first half but struggled to maintain momentum, adding only 12 points in the second half. Their overall field goal percentage was a modest 27 percent from an attempt of 60 shots. From beyond the arc, they managed to convert just four out of 30 three-point attempts, resulting in a low three-point percentage of 13 percent. However, they were more successful from two-point range where they shot at a rate of 40 percent.

Defensively, Kansas State put up an impressive display with nine blocks and six steals during the game. They also showed discipline by committing only eleven personal fouls and keeping turnovers down to twelve for the entire match. On rebounds, they collected forty compared to Nebraska's fifty-seven but fell short on offensive rebounds with ten against Nebraska's nineteen.

Nebraska capitalized on their opportunities throughout both halves scoring consistently with thirty-one points each half and finishing strong against Kansas State’s defense. They shot slightly better than Kansas State from field goals at thirty-five percent accuracy and excelled at three-pointers hitting eleven out of thirty-one attempts which translated into thirty-six percent success rate.

The Wildcats' free throw performance stood out as one area where they had relative success; converting ten out of eighteen free throws gave them a fifty-six percent completion rate which was significantly higher than that of Nebraska who made just one free throw from four attempts.

Despite these efforts by Kansas State players and coaching staff adjustments during breaks – including using only one remaining timeout – it wasn't enough to overcome Nebraska’s consistent scoring and solid defense which included seventeen personal fouls along with seven steals contributing towards their victory.

Looking ahead after this tough loss for Kansas State fans is another opportunity for redemption as the Wildcats will host Wichita State Shockers at T-Mobile Center located in Kansas City on December 21st at 7:30 PM local time (Central Time). This upcoming game will be available for viewing on ESPN+ providing fans another chance to support their team as they aim for recovery after this setback.
