Both teams were equally aggressive in terms of steals, each claiming seven for their side. However, it was the assists where Kentucky showed superior teamwork with 15 assists over North Carolina's 12.

The rebounding game also tilted in favor of the Wildcats who grabbed a total of 42 rebounds against the Tar Heels' 32. This included an impressive performance on offensive rebounds where Kentucky secured 13 against North Carolina's five.

Shooting accuracy played a crucial role in this matchup as well.
