At Rupp Arena, with an attendance of 20,332 fans witnessing the event, the home team displayed an impressive offensive performance. The Wildcats shot at a remarkable 51 percent from the field across both halves of play. Their prowess from beyond the arc was notable as well, sinking 11 three-pointers at a solid rate of 41 percent. This sharpshooting contributed significantly to their total points tally for the night.

Kentucky's ball distribution was exemplary; they racked up a total of 27 assists which facilitated their high-scoring game and demonstrated their collaborative effort on offense. They also capitalized on turnovers by scoring 13 points off them and added an additional layer of pressure with fast break points matching that number.

Defensively, Kentucky held strong as well with four blocks and equal steals contributing to disrupt Vanderbilt's rhythm. They were also dominant on the glass outrebounding their opponents by a significant margin with 44 rebounds compared to Vanderbilt's 32.

The Commodores put up a valiant fight despite being outmatched. They managed to keep pace in terms of two-point field goal percentage matching Kentucky's at an efficient rate of around half made shots but struggled from three-point range landing only five out of twenty-three attempts which translated into just about one-fifth success rate.

Vanderbilt did excel in scoring within paint totaling forty-eight points showcasing their ability to penetrate Kentucky’s defense but ultimately it wasn't enough against Wildcat’s more balanced attack that saw them also score forty points in paint while adding perimeter shooting into mix.

Looking ahead for Kentucky Wildcats fans, attention now turns towards next challenge as they prepare face Tennessee Volunteers away from home comforts at Thompson-Boling Arena located Knoxville Tennessee scheduled for March ninth four o'clock afternoon Eastern Time broadcasted live CBS network ensuring supporters won’t miss any action regardless where they are.
