Can the Flames' Hot Shooting Secure Another Victory at Liberty Arena?

The Liberty Flames continued their season with a commanding performance against the New Mexico State Aggies, securing an 83-58 victory. The Flames, maintaining an unblemished record, showcased a dominant offensive display that overwhelmed the Aggies' defense. The home team's sharpshooting was on full display as they converted 50 percent of their three-point attempts and maintained a 53 percent field goal percentage throughout the game.

Liberty Flames VS New Mexico State Aggies

The Liberty Arena in Lynchburg witnessed an impressive ensemble by the Flames, who outperformed the Aggies in almost every statistical category. With a total of 22 assists, the Flames facilitated ball movement that led to high-percentage shots and capitalized on scoring opportunities inside the paint with 34 points. Their defensive efforts were equally notable as they amassed a total of 40 rebounds compared to the Aggies' 25.

A significant factor in this matchup was Liberty's efficiency from beyond the arc. Knocking down 14 three-pointers at a remarkable rate underscored their offensive prowess and stretched New Mexico State's defense thin. Additionally, converting free throws at a high rate of 78 percent helped maintain their lead throughout both halves.

On defense, Liberty limited New Mexico State to just nine fast break points while only allowing them to shoot at a modest rate from two-point range (45 percent) and even less so from three-point land (29 percent). The visiting team struggled to find consistency in their shooting and could not keep pace with Liberty's output.

The Aggies did manage some resistance by scoring 30 points in paint and capitalizing on turnovers for an additional 13 points. However, it wasn't enough to counteract their low assist-to-turnover ratio or improve upon their lower overall shooting percentage (41 percent).

As fans look forward to more action-packed games at Liberty Arena, they can mark their calendars for when the Flames host UTEP Miners on March 2nd at 7:00 PM Eastern Time. This upcoming game promises another exciting matchup for basketball enthusiasts which will be broadcasted live on ESPN+. Fans are encouraged to continue supporting their team as they aim for another victory on home turf.
