Bulldogs Bite Back with Commanding Victory at Pete Mathews Coliseum

In a display of dominance, the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs improved their season record to an impressive 74-57 against the Jacksonville State Gamecocks. The Bulldogs, showcasing a robust offensive performance, outscored the Gamecocks in both halves with 30-25 and 44-32 respectively.

The Bulldogs' victory was marked by their efficient shooting from the field, boasting a solid 54 percent overall. Their prowess inside was particularly notable as they converted an outstanding 61 percent of two-point attempts. The team's scoring efforts were bolstered by sinking five three-pointers at a rate of 36 percent. At the charity stripe, Louisiana Tech managed to hit 62 percent of free throws.


Defensively, the Bulldogs were just as formidable. They amassed nine steals and two blocks while holding their opponents to fewer points in both halves. The defensive rebounding effort was led by collecting seventeen boards on that end and adding another eight on offense for a total rebound count of twenty-nine.


Louisiana Tech capitalized on turnovers, turning them into seventeen points off turnovers compared to ten by Jacksonville State Gamecocks. Additionally, they outpaced their opponents with eleven fast break points and maintained better ball control with only ten turnovers throughout the game.


The Gamecocks put up a valiant fight despite falling short in several key areas. They ended up shooting at a respectable rate from inside the arc at fifty-eight percent but struggled beyond it with only twenty-three percent from three-point land and fifty-three percent from free throw line which contributed to their inability to keep pace.


As for individual performances for Louisiana Tech Bulldogs, there were no ejections or technical fouls indicating disciplined play throughout this conference game which saw seven lead changes and was tied twice before Louisiana Tech took control.
