Can the Bulldogs' Tenacity Outshine the Gamecocks' Grit at Jacksonville?

The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs emerged victorious with a 63-58 scoreline against the Jacksonville State Gamecocks. The Bulldogs now stand with an unblemished record, while the Gamecocks fell to 0-1 in their season opener. On rebounding front, Louisiana Tech collected thirty rebounds including ten offensive boards which contributed to seven second-chance points for team. Despite committing fifteen personal fouls and turning ball over twelve times themselves, they managed to keep Gamecocks at bay.


The Gamecocks put up a valiant effort as well but fell short despite their own solid performance statistics-wise. They shot forty-four percent from two-point range and thirty-two percent from three-point territory while making eighty-three percent of their free throws.


Jacksonville State had nine steals and two blocks defensively but struggled with turnovers as they gave up ball nineteen times leading to sixteen Bulldog points off those turnovers. They did manage fifteen second-chance points thanks largely to twelve offensive rebounds but it wasn't enough against determined Bulldog defense that only allowed fifty-eight total Gamecock points.
