Louisville Cardinals Outpaced by North Carolina State Wolfpack in High-Scoring Affair

In a contest that showcased offensive firepower, the Louisville Cardinals fell to the North Carolina State Wolfpack with a final score of 85-94. The Cardinals entered the game without a rank, as did their opponents. Despite a strong start leading to an initial half advantage of 46-45, Louisville could not maintain their momentum and were outscored in the second half, resulting in their defeat.

The Cardinals exhibited precision from the field with an impressive overall shooting performance. They converted 55 percent of their attempts from two-point range and matched this accuracy from beyond the arc, sinking 56 percent of three-point shots. At the free-throw line, they were flawless, making all 11 free throws attempted.


Louisville's offense was fueled by contributions across the board with six steals and four blocks on defense adding to their dynamic play. However, they struggled to contain turnovers with a total of 16 for the game which translated into 12 points for North Carolina State off those turnovers. The team's assist-to-turnover ratio stood at 0.69.


On offense, Louisville managed to put up significant numbers inside with 32 points coming from within the paint and added another seven points through second-chance opportunities. Fast break situations also favored them as they scored 13 fast break points.


The Wolfpack capitalized on turnovers more effectively than Louisville did; scoring an impressive total of 22 points off turnovers compared to Louisville's twelve. They also edged out in fast break scenarios putting up five more fast break points than Louisville for a total of eighteen.


North Carolina State showed remarkable efficiency inside by hitting an outstanding rate of two-point shots at sixty-two percent while maintaining over fifty-three percent shooting overall from field goals made. Their prowess at drawing fouls led them to attempt nearly four times as many free throws as Louisville did – converting thirty-three out of forty attempts which accounted for eighty-two percent success rate at charity stripe.


Defensively both teams were evenly matched in terms of rebounds but North Carolina State slightly edged out with one additional rebound over Louisville’s twenty-six rebounds tallying twenty-seven themselves; nineteen defensive and eight offensive boards against seventeen defensive and nine offensive boards collected by The Cardinals respectively.
