Tigers Set to Battle Hornets at Baton Rouge's Pete Maravich Assembly Center

As the LSU Tigers prepare to host the Alabama State Hornets at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center, fans are eager for what promises to be an enthralling matchup. The Tigers have shown resilience and a fighting spirit in their recent games, but there's room for improvement if they aim to dominate against the Hornets.

In their last game on December 9th against Kansas State Wildcats, the Tigers fell short with a final score of 60-75. Despite outperforming the Wildcats in steals (10 vs. 8) and fast break points (15 vs. 9), LSU struggled with turnovers and shooting efficiency from beyond the arc, hitting only 30 percent of their three-point attempts.

The game before that saw a more favorable outcome for LSU when they faced off against Southeastern Louisiana Lions on December 2nd. The Tigers secured a victory with a score of 73-66, showcasing an impressive two-point field goal percentage of nearly 64 percent and capitalizing on turnovers by scoring 17 points off them.

However, it's worth noting that in an earlier away game against Syracuse Orange on November 29th, LSU scored only two three-pointers out of twenty-two attempts – a meager nine percent success rate – which contributed to their defeat at 57-80.

The upcoming contest presents an opportunity for redemption as well as consistency for LSU. To come out victorious, they will need to focus on maintaining strong defense without fouling excessively (18 personal fouls in their last game) and improving ball security to reduce turnovers (15 against Kansas State). Additionally, enhancing three-point shooting accuracy could be pivotal considering its impact in past performances.

Alabama State Hornets come into this game with less fanfare but should not be underestimated. Their ability to challenge opponents can disrupt any team's rhythm; therefore, it is crucial for LSU not just to rely on talent but also execute strategically both offensively and defensively.

With anticipation building up among fans who bleed purple and gold, all eyes will be set on whether the Tigers can roar back into form or if they'll succumb under pressure once again.

Mark your calendars for December 13th at Pete Maravich Assembly Center where tip-off is scheduled at 7:00 PM local time. Fans unable to attend can catch all live action via broadcast networks SEC Network+ or ESPN+.
