The game, held at John Gray Gymnasium, saw the LSU Tigers establish an early lead with a first-half performance that put them ahead by 45 points compared to Illinois State's 18. The second half continued to favor the home team as they scored an additional 32 points against their opponents' more aggressive but insufficient 43-point effort.

The Tigers showcased superior shooting accuracy throughout the game, achieving a field goal percentage of roughly 49 percent on their way to victory. Their prowess was particularly evident inside the paint where they scored an impressive total of 40 points. Additionally, from beyond the arc, they made three out of fourteen attempts.

On defense and rebounding fronts, both teams were evenly matched with each recording eight steals and three blocks. However, it was in rebounding where LSU truly shone; they collected a total of thirty-five rebounds—twenty-five defensive and ten offensive—which contributed significantly to their second-chance point tally of twelve.

Assists were another area where LSU excelled; seventeen assists demonstrated effective ball movement and teamwork against Illinois State's thirteen assists. Despite committing eighteen turnovers—one less than their opponents—their assist-to-turnover ratio remained higher at approximately one.

Free throw accuracy also played a role in this match-up as LSU made twenty-two out of thirty attempts from the line which translates into about seventy-three percent success rate compared to Illinois State's near-perfect twelve out of fourteen free throws made.

Looking ahead for fans eager to follow their team’s progress: The next challenge for the LSU Tigers will be against Akron Zips at John Gray Gymnasium on November twenty-second at six-thirty PM local time (George Town). This game will be available for viewing on FloSports internet broadcast networks.
