The LSU Tigers have been on a rollercoaster ride this season, with their recent games displaying both grit and areas for improvement. On February 17th against the South Carolina Gamecocks, LSU edged out a victory by just one point in a nail-biting finish. The final score was 64-63 in favor of the Tigers. This close shave highlighted LSU's defensive prowess as they racked up six blocks and an equal number of steals while holding their opponents to just three fast break points.

However, it wasn't all smooth sailing for LSU. Their shooting from beyond the arc was decent at 38 percent but left room for improvement. Additionally, their free throw percentage lingered at only 64 percent – an aspect that could prove costly in tight games.

In contrast, when looking back at their February 14th game against the Florida Gators where they lost by two points (80-82), it's evident that offensive firepower isn't lacking; sinking an impressive 52 percent from three-point range shows they can rack up scores quickly when needed.

But perhaps most telling is their performance on February 10th against Alabama Crimson Tide where despite losing (92-109), they showcased an ability to maintain high shooting percentages under pressure – recording a field goal percentage of 55 and converting free throws at a rate of 73 percent.

The Vanderbilt Commodores will not make things easy for LSU though. They are known for being tenacious defenders on their home court and will look to disrupt the rhythm that LSU tries so hard to establish.

With these past performances as indicators, it seems clear that if LSU can tighten up its defense while maintaining its offensive efficiency especially from downtown and from the charity stripe – there’s no reason why they shouldn’t come out victorious in Nashville.

Fans eager to see if the Tigers can harness these strengths should mark their calendars: tip-off is set for March 2nd at exactly half-past two in the afternoon Central Time (3:30 PM Eastern Time). The action will unfold live on SEC Network channel number six hundred eleven – don’t miss what promises to be an enthralling battle between these conference rivals!
