The Pete Maravich Assembly Center was filled with 8,547 fans who witnessed an intense second half as the home team overturned a halftime deficit by outscoring their opponents by 16 points. The LSU Tigers showcased their resilience and ability to perform under pressure.

LSU dominated inside the paint with 40 points compared to Missouri's 34. This inside presence was complemented by their fast break performance where they scored 17 points. On defense, they managed to block four shots and steal the ball eight times from their opponents.

A key aspect of LSU's success was their free throw shooting; they made 26 out of 37 attempts which accounted for nearly one-third of their total point tally. Their overall field goal percentage stood at 46 percent with a two-point shooting percentage of 57 percent.

Missouri also had moments of brilliance during the game despite falling short on the scoreboard. They were efficient from two-point range, making an impressive 62 percent of those shots. From beyond the arc, they shot at a rate of 31 percent hitting nine three-pointers throughout the contest.

Both teams struggled equally with turnovers at fifteen each but differed in how they capitalized on these opportunities; both teams scored exactly seventeen points off turnovers. In terms of assists-to-turnover ratio, however, LSU led with a ratio close to one compared to Missouri’s lower rate.

Rebounding played a significant role in this tight encounter as well; LSU outrebounded Missouri by nine rebounds overall which included thirteen offensive boards leading to fifteen second-chance points for them.
