Terrapins Dominate Braves at Xfinity Center in High-Scoring Affair

In a commanding display of basketball, the Maryland Terrapins outplayed the Alcorn State Braves with a final score of 105-65. The Terrapins' season record now stands at an impressive 1-0, while the Braves fall to 0-1.

The game, held at the Xfinity Center in College Park, saw the home team, Maryland Terrapins, take control from the start. By halftime, they had already built a significant lead with 47 points against the Braves' 33. The second half only widened this gap as Maryland added another dominant 58 points to their tally while holding Alcorn State to just 32 additional points.


Maryland's offense was firing on all cylinders; they shot an impressive field goal percentage of 53 and were particularly lethal from beyond the arc with a three-point shooting percentage of 47. Their free throw accuracy was also noteworthy at approximately 78 percent. The Terrapins excelled in ball distribution as well, racking up a total of 20 assists which contributed to their high-scoring performance.


Defensively, Maryland was just as formidable. They amassed nine steals and five blocks over the course of play while limiting their personal fouls to just fourteen. This defensive effort helped them capitalize on turnovers by scoring an outstanding total of thirty-three points off turnovers.


The Alcorn State Braves put forth a valiant effort despite being overpowered by Maryland's robust gameplay. They managed to make fifty-five percent of their three-point attempts and fought hard for rebounds with ten offensive boards contributing to sixteen second-chance points.


As for individual performances on Maryland's side, it was truly a team effort that led them to victory. With thirty-one free throws made and fourteen three-pointers sinking through the net, it is clear that multiple players stepped up to contribute significantly across all facets of play.
