The Maryland Terrapins put up a resilient fight throughout the game. In the first half, they managed to score 29 points but found themselves trailing as they entered halftime. They improved their performance in the second half by adding another 33 points to their tally. Despite this effort, it was not enough to secure victory over the Golden Gophers who scored 43 points in the latter half.

Maryland's statistics reflect both their strengths and areas for improvement during this intense conference game. They achieved an impressive free throw percentage of eighty-three percent by making twenty out of twenty-four attempts from the line. However, their field goal percentage stood at thirty-eight percent with nineteen successful shots out of fifty attempts; three-point shots were converted at thirty-three percent accuracy with four made out of twelve attempts.

Defensively, Maryland matched Minnesota's six blocks and added six steals to their defensive efforts but committed twenty personal fouls which resulted in two players being fouled out of the game. On offense, they recorded ten assists but turned over the ball seventeen times which translated into seventeen points for Minnesota off turnovers.

Rebounding was one area where Maryland excelled; they grabbed thirty-eight rebounds including nine offensive boards which contributed to eight second-chance points and twenty-eight points in paint overall.
