The Maryland Terrapins improved their record to 10-2 after a decisive 73-58 victory over the Old Dominion Monarchs, who now stand at 8-4. The game, held at XFINITY Center in College Park, saw the Terps dominate early with a strong first half performance.

First Half


The Terps set the tone from the outset, establishing a commanding lead by scoring 45 points in the first half while limiting Old Dominion to just 18. Isaiah Watts was instrumental during this period, contributing significantly on both ends of the court. His defensive prowess was evident as he recorded multiple blocks and steals that disrupted Old Dominion's offensive flow.


Second Half


In the second half, although Maryland's scoring pace slowed with only 28 points added to their tally, their defense remained steadfast. The Monarchs attempted a comeback by scoring 40 points but were unable to overcome Maryland's initial lead. Darius Adams played a crucial role in maintaining defensive pressure and facilitating ball movement with his assists.

Throughout the game, Maryland showcased superior efficiency with an overall field goal percentage of 40 percent compared to Old Dominion’s 37 percent. The Terps also excelled from beyond the arc with an impressive three-point shooting percentage of 38 percent.

Old Dominion struggled against Maryland’s robust defense which resulted in only four successful three-pointers out of eighteen attempts for them.
