The Memphis-based squad has been showcasing their prowess in recent games, most notably during their December 31st clash against Austin Peay Governors where they secured an 81-70 victory. Their offensive strategy was clear – dominate inside the paint which they did with a staggering 42 points in that area alone. Coupled with an exceptional free throw percentage of 87 percent and a total rebound count of 48, it's evident that MEM has been focusing on fundamentals and it's paying dividends.

Defense hasn't taken a backseat either; six blocks and six steals against the Governors were crucial in disrupting their opponents' rhythm. This defensive solidity is something MEM will need to bring into their upcoming game as TLSA will undoubtedly be looking for any cracks to exploit.

Looking back further at MEM's December 23rd nail-biter against Vanderbilt Commodores, we saw another display of resilience as they edged out with a narrow two-point win (77-75). Despite shooting only 38 percent from the field overall, what stood out was their ability to capitalize on turnovers – scoring 18 points from these opportunities.

However, it wasn't just about offense; tenacity on defense played its part too. Ten steals in that game highlighted MEM's aggressive approach without possession and this disruptive playstyle could be key in unsettling TLSA’s offense come game day.

The Tigers also demonstrated remarkable composure under pressure when they faced Virginia Cavaliers on December 20th. In that matchup, MEM turned up the heat defensively with fifteen steals leading them to score an impressive total of twenty-seven points off turnovers while maintaining solid shooting percentages across the board (47 percent FGs and an impressive 39 percent from beyond the arc).

With such statistics backing them up, there is every reason for Tiger fans to approach this upcoming contest with confidence. However, basketball is unpredictable and TLSA playing at home should not be underestimated – especially when pride is at stake.

MEM supporters should mark their calendars for January 4th at 7:00 PM CT as ESPN+ will broadcast what could potentially be another chapter in Memphis Tigers' winning saga this season. The stage is set at Donald W. Reynolds Center where fans can tune in online via ESPN+ for all live-action as these two teams battle it out on court.
