The game was a spectacle of offensive firepower and resilience. The Memphis Tigers showcased their scoring abilities early on but found themselves trailing by two points after the first half ended with a scoreline of 35-37. However, they turned up the heat in the second half, adding an impressive 59 points to their tally before outscoring their opponents by six points in overtime to seal their victory.

The Tigers' shooting efficiency was on full display as they hit over half of their field goal attempts with a remarkable field goal percentage of fifty-three percent and were particularly lethal from beyond the arc with forty-eight percent three-point shooting accuracy. Their prowess from two-point range was equally impressive with fifty-six percent success rate.

Memphis also dominated inside, scoring thirty-six points in paint compared to twenty-six by UTSA. They capitalized on second-chance opportunities as well, matching UTSA's eleven second-chance points despite fewer offensive rebounds.

Defensively, Memphis outperformed UTSA with five blocks and five steals contributing to their defensive efforts. Their rebounding was superior too; hauling down forty-three rebounds including thirty-one defensively which helped limit UTSA's opportunities for additional scoring chances.

On an individual level, turnovers were nearly even between both teams though Memphis had slightly more with nine compared to eight for UTSA. However, this slight edge did not deter them as they maintained better ball distribution evidenced by eighteen assists which contributed significantly to their offensive flow.

Despite being outnumbered in personal fouls eighteen to twenty-nine and having one player foul out compared to three for UTSA, Memphis showed composure throughout regulation time and into overtime where they ultimately took control of the game.

As fans look ahead eagerly for more action-packed basketball from their beloved team, attention turns toward an upcoming away game against Wichita State Shockers at Charles Koch Arena scheduled for January 14th at 12:00 PM local time (1:00 PM EST). This encounter will be broadcast nationally on ESPN2 channel number two hundred nine ensuring that fans won't miss any part of what promises another exciting matchup for the Memphis Tigers.
