The Memphis Tigers started strong with an initial half score of 30 points but couldn't maintain their momentum against the Mean Green's robust defense and sharpshooting. Despite a valiant effort, including a total of 37 rebounds and an impressive free throw percentage of 81 percent, the Tigers fell short as they struggled to find their rhythm from beyond the arc with only nine three-pointers made out of twenty-nine attempts for a three-point shooting percentage of 31 percent.

The offensive rebounds were a highlight for the Memphis side as they grabbed sixteen compared to North Texas's eight. This aggressive play led to fifteen second-chance points for Memphis. However, turnovers proved costly for them; despite having one less turnover than North Texas at fifteen, they only managed to convert these opportunities into six points off turnovers.

On defense, steals were even on both sides with eight each. The Tigers also managed two blocks but allowed five from their opponents. Personal fouls were equal between both teams at fifteen each; however, this did not significantly impact either team's performance from the charity stripe where both teams excelled.

North Texas showed remarkable efficiency from long range hitting fifty-seven percent from three-point land which contributed significantly to their ten point victory margin over Memphis. Their fast break performance was particularly notable as well with twenty fast break points highlighting their quick transition play.

Looking ahead for fans of the Memphis Tigers is an away game against SMU Mustangs scheduled on February 18th at Moody Coliseum in Dallas. The match will be broadcast nationally on ESPN channel two hundred and six starting at 3:00 PM Central Time Zone. Fans can look forward to watching how their team will bounce back during this upcoming encounter.
