Miami (FL) Hurricanes Set to Challenge Syracuse Orange at JMA Wireless Dome

As the Miami (FL) Hurricanes prepare to face off against the Syracuse Orange at the JMA Wireless Dome, fans are buzzing with anticipation for what promises to be an electrifying match-up. The Hurricanes, coming off a series of games that have showcased their strengths and weaknesses, are looking to assert their dominance on the court once again.

In their last game on December 22nd against Stonehill Skyhawks, the Hurricanes displayed a formidable offensive performance, racking up 97 points. Their field goal percentage stood at an impressive 49 percent and they were particularly effective from beyond the arc, hitting 38 percent of their three-point attempts. With such a potent offense, it's clear that when they're firing on all cylinders, they can be unstoppable.

However, it wasn't just their scoring prowess that caught everyone's attention; it was also their ability to dominate the boards. Pulling down 52 rebounds with an incredible contribution from both ends of the floor—34 defensive and 16 offensive—they showed just how much control they can exert over a game. This rebounding advantage could prove crucial against Syracuse.

The Hurricanes' assist-to-turnover ratio in that game was also noteworthy at over two assists for every turnover committed—a testament to their smart ball-handling and unselfish play style. If they maintain this level of teamwork and discipline against Syracuse Orange, fans can expect them to have a significant edge in ball control.

However, not all recent games have gone Miami's way. On December 10th versus Colorado Buffaloes in Brooklyn’s Barclays Center—a neutral site—the team struggled defensively allowing 90 points while only scoring 63 themselves. The Buffaloes shot nearly 59 percent from the field which exposed some defensive vulnerabilities for Miami (FL). Learning from this experience will be key if they want to contain Syracuse’s offense.

Despite these challenges, there is no doubt about Miami's resilience and ability as shown by bouncing back with victories after tough losses like these throughout the season so far.

Looking ahead at what awaits them in New York state; if Miami (FL) brings its A-game—especially on defense—and continues its trend of sharing the basketball effectively while controlling rebounds as seen in previous performances this season then there is every reason for optimism among Hurricane supporters.

The upcoming clash is scheduled for January 20th at JMA Wireless Dome where tip-off will take place promptly at noon Eastern Time. Fans eager not to miss any action should tune into ESPN2 channel number two hundred nine where live coverage will be broadcasted nationally.
