In their last outing against the Nebraska Cornhuskers, the Spartans fell short with 70 points to Nebraska's 77. Despite this loss, there were positive takeaways; they demonstrated a solid free-throw percentage of 89 percent and an impressive three-point shooting rate of 47 percent. However, turnovers were an issue that needs addressing as they recorded nine during that game.

The previous home game saw a different side of the Spartans as they succumbed to Wisconsin Badgers with only 57 points compared to Badgers' 70. The team showed strength under the basket with a two-point field goal percentage of over half but struggled beyond the arc with just a 32 percent success rate from three-point land.

However, it's not all grim for Spartan fans. A dominant performance was displayed earlier against Georgia Southern Eagles where Michigan State triumphed with an emphatic scoreline of 86-55. Their offensive rebounding was particularly noteworthy as they grabbed fourteen more than their opponents which contributed significantly to their second-chance points.

The upcoming game is crucial for Michigan State as it presents an opportunity to bounce back and showcase their ability to compete against top-tier teams like Baylor Bears. Fans can expect head coach Tom Izzo to have his team focused on reducing turnovers while maintaining aggressive defense and efficient scoring from both inside and outside paint.

Spartan supporters should mark their calendars for December 16th at 7 PM Eastern Time when these two teams clash at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit. The game will be broadcasted nationally on FOX network ensuring fans won't miss any action from this exciting matchup.
