First Half


The first half was marked by a strong start from the 'Cats, who managed to take an early lead of up to 8 points. Their offensive efforts were spearheaded by effective free throw shooting at an impressive 80 percent. However, despite Northwestern's initial dominance and their ability to capitalize on turnovers with 17 points off turnovers, they couldn't maintain their momentum against the resilient Spartans.


Second Half


In the second half, it was all about Michigan State's resurgence. The Green and White turned up their defensive intensity and outscored Northwestern by a significant margin of 48-31 in this period. Jaxon Kohler played a pivotal role for State with his efficient shooting performance—hitting field goals at a rate of 56 percent—and contributing significantly on both ends of the court with rebounds and blocks.

Jeremy Fears Jr., another standout for Michigan State, showcased his playmaking skills with five assists while also adding crucial points that helped swing momentum in favor of his team. Carson Cooper dominated inside with perfect two-point shooting accuracy and led all scorers for MSU with an impactful presence under the basket.


On Northwestern's side, despite their loss, they showed flashes of potential through fast break opportunities which accounted for nearly one-third of their total scoring output.
