Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders Set to Tame New Mexico State Aggies at Home

As the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders gear up to face the New Mexico State Aggies, fans are buzzing with anticipation for what promises to be a thrilling encounter at the Murphy Athletic Center. The upcoming clash scheduled for February 16 is not just another game; it's an opportunity for MTU to showcase their resilience and skill on their home court.

Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders VS New Mexico State Aggies

The Blue Raiders have had a rollercoaster season thus far, with performances that have both impressed and left room for improvement. Their recent outing against Southern Utah Thunderbirds on December 23 saw them fall short by a narrow margin, scoring 63 points against the Thunderbirds' 69. Despite this loss, there were positive takeaways: MTU demonstrated an impressive two-point shooting accuracy of 62 percent and dominated in points in the paint with a whopping 46 points.

However, turnovers were a thorn in their side as they gave up possession 16 times. This is one area where they will need to tighten up if they are to overcome NMSU's challenge. The assist-to-turnover ratio of just over 0.8 from that game indicates that ball security must be prioritized in practice sessions leading up to the next game.

In contrast, during their December 10 matchup at home against Belmont Bruins, MTU showed signs of what they are capable of when firing on all cylinders. They put up a valiant fight but ultimately lost by ten points with a final score of 65-75. That night, MTU displayed defensive prowess with five blocks and six steals while also maintaining decent three-point shooting at 30 percent.

The upcoming game presents an opportunity for redemption and it's critical that MTU leverages its strengths – particularly its ability to score inside – while addressing weaknesses such as ball handling under pressure.

MTU fans know that when their team plays with determination and focus, they can compete with anyone on any given night. With home-court advantage playing into their hands this time around against NMSU Aggies, there's every reason for optimism among the Raider faithful.

Looking ahead at NMSU's stats from previous games suggests that this won't be an easy win; however, if MTU can capitalize on their scoring efficiency from close range and reduce turnovers significantly compared to past performances – victory is within reach.

As we count down towards tip-off time at Murphy Athletic Center in Murfreesboro on February 16th at precisely half-past six PM local time (6:30 PM), excitement builds among fans who will undoubtedly fill the stands or tune into ESPN+ online broadcasts eager to witness whether Middle Tennessee can harness its potential into performance when it matters most.
