The Golden Gophers showcased a robust performance throughout the game. With a total of 80 points scored, they demonstrated offensive efficiency by shooting 51 percent from the field and an impressive 46 percent from beyond the arc. Their two-point attempts were also fruitful, converting 54 percent of their shots. The team's free throw percentage stood at 58 percent.

Defensively, Minnesota was just as formidable. They managed to block five shots and came away with eight steals, reflecting their proactive defensive stance against Maine's offense. On top of that, they outrebounded their opponents by securing 34 rebounds to Maine's 33.

Assists were another area where Minnesota excelled; they dished out a total of 23 assists which speaks volumes about their teamwork and ball distribution capabilities during play. This was complemented by an assist-to-turnover ratio of 2.3 – showcasing better ball control compared to Maine’s ratio of 1.23.

The Golden Gophers capitalized on turnovers effectively by scoring 17 points off them and added another layer to their scoring through fast breaks where they notched up a notable number -15 fast break points- highlighting their ability to transition quickly from defense to offense.

Minnesota also made sure to utilize second-chance opportunities provided by offensive rebounds; they recorded a significant number -14 second chance points-, which contributed greatly to maintaining momentum throughout the game.

On Maine’s side, despite falling short in overall scoreline and statistics such as field goal percentage (44 percent) and three-point percentage (26 percent), there were still some positive takeaways for them including converting over half (52 percent) of two-point attempts into scores and achieving an admirable free throw percentage at around -83 percent-. They also showed resilience under pressure managing six fast break points along with five second chance points but ultimately couldn't keep pace with Minnesota’s scoring efficiency or defensive pressure.

As fans look forward toward future matchups for Minnesota Golden Gophers basketball team after this convincing win against Maine Black Bears at Williams Arena in Minneapolis before nearly nine thousand spectators; attention now turns towards next challenge awaiting them: A visit to Crisler Center in Ann Arbor where they will face Michigan Wolverines on January -4th- at -9 PM-.
