In a game held at Williams Arena, the home crowd witnessed the Minnesota Golden Gophers struggle to find their rhythm against a determined Mississippi State Bulldogs team. Despite their best efforts, the Golden Gophers were unable to secure a win on their home court. The first half ended with the visitors leading by eight points, and they managed to extend that lead by ten more in the second half.

The Minnesota team's shooting was off mark throughout the game, managing only 28 percent from field goal range and making just eight out of thirty two-point attempts. However, they did show proficiency from the free throw line with an impressive 82 percent accuracy rate but it wasn't enough to close down their opponents' lead.

Defensively, both teams showed prowess around the rim; however, it was here that some light shone for the home side as they recorded seven blocks over Mississippi's six. Yet this defensive effort did not translate into control of play as evidenced by fifteen turnovers for Minnesota compared to twelve for Mississippi State.

On offense, Mississippi demonstrated better efficiency with a field goal percentage of 47 and converting nearly half of their two-point shots. Their ability to score from various positions was highlighted by putting up thirty-four points in paint and adding another ten through fast breaks.

Rebounding was almost even between both teams; however, it is worth noting that despite one less total rebound than its opponent (36), Mississippi made better use of theirs contributing significantly to second-chance points and points off turnovers which stood at six and twelve respectively.

As fans look ahead after this tough loss for Minnesota Golden Gophers basketball team will next face Arkansas-Pine Bluff Golden Lions at Williams Arena on December 14th at 7:00 PM local time.
