The Minnesota Golden Gophers showcased their offensive strength early on, ending the first half with a substantial lead. Their shooting was particularly effective; they achieved an impressive field goal percentage of 52 and were successful on 65 percent of their two-point attempts. The team also excelled at free throws, making 27 out of 35 attempts, which translated to a commendable accuracy rate of approximately 77 percent.

Defensively, the Gophers were just as formidable. They managed to block four shots from the Wildcats and made nine steals over the course of the game. This defensive hustle contributed to them scoring an additional ten points from second-chance opportunities and netting another eighteen points off turnovers forced upon their opponents.

With thirty-nine total rebounds—eighteen offensive and twenty-one defensive—the Wildcats showed tenacity on the boards but struggled with shooting accuracy throughout the game.

The visitors converted only four out of eighteen three-point attempts, culminating in a low three-point percentage near twenty-two percent. Additionally, they faced difficulty in converting two-point field goals with less than forty percent success rate despite fifty-two attempts.
