At Williams Arena, home of the Golden Gophers, fans witnessed a hard-fought battle where both teams displayed significant effort on the court. The first half ended with the Hoosiers ahead by five points, setting up an intense second half. Despite being outscored in both halves—30-25 and 40-33—the Golden Gophers showed resilience throughout.

The Minnesota team's statistics reflect areas of both strength and struggle during this matchup. They managed to out-rebound their opponents significantly with 36 rebounds compared to 26 for Indiana. However, they struggled from beyond the arc, converting only 19 percent of their three-point attempts into points. In contrast, field goal efficiency was higher within closer range as they achieved a two-point shooting percentage of 55.

Defensively, Minnesota tallied three blocks and made eleven steals but ultimately could not contain Indiana's offense which boasted a field goal percentage of 54 overall and an impressive three-point shooting performance at 62 percent accuracy.

Offensively for Minnesota, fast break points totaled twelve while points off turnovers were fifteen—a testament to their ability to capitalize on Indiana's mistakes despite committing more turnovers themselves (18 for MINN versus IND's fourteen). Points in the paint were also notable for Minnesota at thirty-two but fell short against Indiana’s dominant forty-eight paint points.
