At the Prudential Center, fans witnessed the Mississippi State Bulldogs display a commanding performance on the court. The team's offensive efforts were highlighted by their 48 percent shooting from two-point range and a solid 41 percent overall field goal percentage. Their prowess at the free-throw line was particularly notable, as they capitalized on these opportunities with an outstanding 85 percent success rate.

Defensively, the Bulldogs outshined their opponents as well. They amassed an impressive total of 47 rebounds compared to the Scarlet Knights' 26. This rebounding effort was bolstered by a significant advantage in defensive rebounds, where they collected 33 against Rutgers' mere 17. Additionally, Mississippi State showcased its defensive capabilities by blocking five shots and matching Rutgers with six steals each.

The second half proved to be decisive for Mississippi State as they outscored Rutgers by ten points after both teams were tied at halftime. The Bulldogs' ability to score nine second-chance points and capitalize on turnovers—with 14 points off turnovers—played a crucial role in widening their lead.

On offense, assists were distributed effectively among teammates leading to better scoring opportunities; Mississippi State recorded 14 assists over Rutgers' ten. Despite committing more turnovers than their opponents (14 compared to eight), it did not significantly hinder their path to victory.

Rutgers put up a valiant fight despite falling short in several statistical categories. Their three-point shooting struggled throughout the game, finishing at just under eighteen percent accuracy from beyond the arc—a stark contrast to their seventy-nine percent free throw completion rate which kept them within striking distance for much of the contest.

As fans look forward to future games, attention turns toward an upcoming matchup for Mississippi State against Bethune-Cookman Wildcats at Humphrey Coliseum in Starkville on December 31st at around eight o'clock PM Eastern Time Zone (ET). This game will be available for viewing on SEC Network+ via internet broadcast networks.
