Mississippi State Bulldogs Face Narrow Defeat at Pinnacle Bank Arena Against Drake Bulldogs

In a closely contested matchup at Pinnacle Bank Arena, the Mississippi State Bulldogs fell short against the Drake Bulldogs with a final score of 58-52. The visiting team's season record now stands at 15-1, while the home team improved to an unranked status with this victory.

The Mississippi State Bulldogs started strong in the first half, putting up 31 points against Drake's 23. However, momentum shifted after halftime as Drake outscored them by 14 points in the second half to secure their win. Despite a solid effort from Mississippi State, which included making seven three-pointers at a rate of 37 percent and converting five free throws at a rate of 56 percent, it wasn't enough to clinch the win.


Mississippi State's field goal percentage for the game was recorded at approximately 39 percent from two-point range and overall shooting stood at nearly 39 percent. They also managed to grab an impressive total of 36 rebounds during the game – with seven offensive and twenty-five defensive boards contributing to their efforts on court. Additionally, they made twelve assists throughout play but were hindered by seventeen turnovers.

On defense, Mississippi State managed two steals but were unable to record any blocks during gameplay. Their players committed fifteen personal fouls over the course of action without any foul outs or ejections occurring.


Drake's performance was highlighted by their ability to capitalize on fast break opportunities with ten fast break points and maintaining perfect accuracy from the free-throw line (100 percent). They also demonstrated effective ball handling with only thirteen turnovers compared to their twelve assists and showed defensive strength by recording six steals and two blocks.
