Mississippi State Bulldogs Face Off Against Tennessee Volunteers at Humphrey Coliseum

The Mississippi State Bulldogs started off matching their opponents with both teams securing 23 points by halftime. However, as the game progressed into the second half, the Volunteers managed to pull ahead by adding an impressive 47 points to their tally compared to the Bulldogs' additional 36 points. The home team's shooting percentage was a notable aspect of their performance; they shot at a rate of 33 percent from field goals and approximately 27 percent from beyond the arc.


Defensively, Mississippi State put up a solid fight with ten steals and three blocks throughout the game. They also capitalized on turnovers better than Tennessee did, scoring twenty points off turnovers thanks to an aggressive defense that forced seventeen total turnovers from their opponents. Despite these efforts, it was not enough to secure victory against Tennessee who showcased efficient shooting with forty-five percent field goal accuracy and an impressive ninety-three percent free throw completion rate. The Volunteers also dominated in rebounds with thirty-nine total rebounds including ten offensive boards which contributed significantly to their win.


A standout player for Mississippi State was undoubtedly active on both ends of the court contributing significantly across various statistical categories including defensive plays and scoring opportunities created through assists.
