Bulldogs Bite but Gators Glide to Victory at Exactech Arena
The Mississippi State Bulldogs, despite a valiant effort, fell short against the Florida Gators with a final score of 70-79. The Bulldogs now stand with an overall record of 0-1, while the Gators boast a 1-0 start to their season.
In a game that saw five lead changes and was tied five times, the Bulldogs showed tenacity on the court at Exactech Arena. The first half ended with Mississippi State trailing by nine points after putting up 34 points to Florida's 43. In the second half, they managed to add another 36 points but couldn't close the gap as Florida scored an additional 36 points.
Mississippi State's offense was led by their ability to score in the paint where they tallied up an impressive total of 36 points. Their second-chance efforts were also notable as they secured 16 second-chance points thanks to their offensive rebounding which accounted for grabbing down 17 boards on that end of the floor.
Defensively, Mississippi State managed two blocks and four steals throughout the game. However, personal fouls were a significant issue for them as they racked up a total of twenty fouls which resulted in two players being foulouted from action.
