The Mississippi State Bulldogs showcased their dominance in the paint, scoring 40 points compared to the Razorbacks' 30. This inside presence was complemented by their superior rebounding effort, pulling down 42 rebounds in total with an impressive 16 offensive boards leading to 13 second-chance points. The home team's two-point shooting percentage stood at an efficient 57 percent.

Despite committing more turnovers than their opponents (14 for Mississippi State versus eight for Arkansas), the Bulldogs managed to capitalize on those committed by Arkansas, scoring 11 points off turnovers. Free throw shooting was another area where both teams struggled somewhat but still played a crucial role in the outcome – Mississippi State shot just under sixty percent from the line but secured enough makes (19) when it mattered most.
