The Missouri Tigers started off trailing behind with 24 points in the first half compared to Illinois' commanding 49 points. However, they managed to rally back and put up a more competitive 49 points in the second half. Despite their efforts, it was not enough to close down on Illinois' consistent performance which saw them add another 48 points after halftime.

The home team showcased their defensive skills by matching their opponents with four blocks each but fell short on steals where they managed eight against Illinois' five. On offense, Missouri struggled from beyond the arc hitting only six out of twenty-seven three-point attempts resulting in a mere twenty-two percent success rate.

Missouri's rebounding effort was led by thirty personal rebounds contributing to their total of thirty-five rebounds for the game; however, this was overshadowed by Illinois' dominant fifty-one rebounds which included fifteen offensive boards leading to twenty-one second-chance points.

Turnovers were relatively low for both teams with Missouri committing seven and Illinois ten; yet it was how each team capitalized that made a difference – Missouri scored twelve points off turnovers while Illinois added eight.

The free throw line also told part of tonight's story as Missouri converted nine out of sixteen attempts giving them a fifty-six percent completion rate compared to seventy-one percent for Illinois who made twenty-two free throws from thirty-one attempts.

Looking ahead, fans can mark their calendars for when The Missouri Tigers will take on Central Arkansas Bears at Mizzou Arena on December 30th at 2:00 PM local time. This game will be broadcasted nationally on SEC Network channel six hundred eleven for those who wish to follow along from home or anywhere across the country.
