Missouri Tigers Outpaced by Razorbacks in High-Scoring Affair

The Missouri Tigers, with a record of 0-0, faced off against the Arkansas Razorbacks, also at 0-0, in a game that ended with an intense scoreline of 88-73. The match took place at the Bud Walton Arena in Fayetteville, where the home team capitalized on their opportunities to secure a decisive victory.

The Tigers started strong with an initial half performance that saw them rack up 34 points. However, despite their efforts and a slight improvement to 39 points in the second half, they were unable to keep pace with the Razorbacks' explosive scoring. The home team put up an impressive 52 points after halftime to pull away from their guests.


Missouri's offense was led by free throw accuracy as they made an outstanding 93 percent from the line. Their field goal percentage stood at a modest 39 percent while converting only 26 percent from beyond the arc. Inside scoring was somewhat effective for Missouri as they managed to accumulate 24 points in the paint.


Defensively, Missouri gathered four blocks and three steals but struggled on rebounds with only five offensive boards contributing to their total of twenty-seven rebounds. Personal fouls were an issue for Missouri as they committed twenty-eight throughout the game which led to one player being fouled out.


Arkansas displayed superior ball movement and teamwork which resulted in sixteen assists compared to six from Missouri. They also had better control over turnovers with just five against eight by Missouri and capitalized on these mistakes by scoring thirteen points off turnovers.


The Razorbacks' shooting was more efficient across all fronts: field goals (48 percent), three-pointers (40 percent), and two-point shots (56 percent). Their defensive efforts included two blocks and four steals while dominating rebounding with thirty-three personal rebounds – seven of which were offensive rebounds leading to second-chance opportunities.
