Missouri Tigers Clawed by Florida Gators at Exactech Arena

The Missouri Tigers, with a record of 0-0, faced off against the 24th-ranked Florida Gators in a conference game that ended in a 74-83 defeat for the visiting team. The Gators improved their record to 1-0 with this victory.

At the Exactech Arena at the Stephen C. O'Connell Center, the Missouri Tigers put up a valiant effort but ultimately fell short against the Florida Gators. The first half saw the Tigers score 28 points to the Gator's 37. In an attempt to rally, Missouri outdid themselves in the second half with an impressive 46 points; however, it was not enough to overcome Florida's consistent performance which also saw them netting another 46 points.


The Tigers showcased their shooting skills with an impressive two-point field goal percentage of sixty percent and were successful on eighty percent of their free throw attempts. Despite these efforts, they struggled beyond the arc, converting only twenty-two percent of three-point shots into points. The team's offensive efforts were highlighted by scoring thirty-eight points in paint and securing fifteen points off turnovers.

Defensively, Missouri managed eight steals and four blocks during the game but were outrebounded by Florida who collected thirty-eight rebounds compared to Missouri's twenty-seven. This discrepancy played a role in second-chance opportunities where Florida capitalized with fourteen second-chance points against Missouri’s eight.


A key aspect for Missouri was their ball handling; they recorded ten assists throughout but turned over possession eleven times which resulted in an assists-turnover ratio of just above one (1.11). On personal stats front, personal fouls amounted to nineteen for both teams while neither side had any players ejected from play.
