The game was held at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center in Baton Rouge, where 8,547 spectators witnessed a closely fought battle. The Missouri Tigers started strong with 35 points in the first half but were outdone by LSU's explosive second half, scoring 55 points to secure their win.

Missouri showcased a balanced offensive effort with an impressive field goal percentage of 48 and converting 81 percent from the free-throw line. Their two-point attempts were particularly effective as they made 20 out of 32 shots for a conversion rate of 62 percent. From beyond the arc, they managed to sink nine three-pointers on a shooting percentage of just over one-third.

Despite their offensive output, Missouri struggled on defense against an aggressive LSU offense that put up an impressive number of points inside the paint (40) and capitalized on fast breaks (17). The home team also had better success on rebounds with a total count of 37 compared to Missouri's total rebound count which stood at only slightly lower than that number.

Key players for Missouri stepped up; however, it wasn't enough to overcome LSU's robust performance which included higher assist numbers and fewer personal fouls. Both teams ended up turning over the ball equally throughout the game but it was LSU who edged out slightly better in capitalizing off these turnovers.

In terms of discipline and control under pressure, both teams had room for improvement as evidenced by high personal foul counts – Missouri notably fouling out two players during playtime. Despite this setback and being behind in several statistical categories including assists-to-turnover ratio where they posted just over half compared to LSU’s near one ratio mark – it was still anyone’s game until those final moments ticked away.

As fans look forward to future matchups after such an intense encounter between these two rivals, they can catch all upcoming games broadcasted according to schedule. For now, supporters will reflect on what could have been as they analyze every play from this nail-biting affair at Pete Maravich Assembly Center.
