In an intense conference game marked by nine lead changes and five instances where the score was tied, the Nebraska Cornhuskers showed promise in the first half with 39 points but fell short in the second half, adding only 26 points to their total. The Minnesota Golden Gophers rallied from behind with an impressive second-half performance scoring 52 points after trailing at halftime with just 24 points.

The Cornhuskers demonstrated efficient shooting inside the arc with a two-point field goal percentage of 54 and made five three-point shots out of eighteen attempts for a three-point percentage of approximately 28 percent. They also excelled at free throws, sinking twelve out of fifteen attempts for an impressive free throw percentage of around 80 percent. Despite these efforts, turnovers proved costly for Nebraska as they gave up possession eighteen times which led to twenty-one points off turnovers for Minnesota.

The Golden Gophers also capitalized on their opportunities from beyond the arc making eight out of twenty-five three-point attempts.

Rebounding was evenly matched between both teams as each grabbed thirty-two rebounds; however, it was notable that both teams had similar numbers in offensive rebounds with nine for Nebraska and ten for Minnesota. Assists were another area where both teams performed well; Nebraska recorded fifteen assists while Minnesota slightly edged them out with eighteen.
