The Cornhuskers entered the half-time break trailing by five points after scoring 36 to Iowa's 41. In the second half, they managed to add 40 more points to their tally but couldn't contain the offensive surge of the Hawkeyes who racked up an impressive 53 points in that period alone. Nebraska's field goal percentage stood at 48 percent with successful execution on 30 out of 63 attempts. They were particularly effective inside, notching up an impressive 46 points in the paint.

Nebraska's two-point shooting was a highlight as they converted at a remarkable rate of 70 percent from close range. However, their three-point efforts only yielded a success rate of 15 percent which significantly impacted their scoring potential from beyond the arc. At the free-throw line, they fared better with an accuracy of 80 percent.

On defense and on transition plays, Nebraska recorded one block and six fast break points respectively. They also showed some hustle with five steals during playtime and managed to secure eight offensive rebounds contributing to ten second-chance points.

The home team Iowa Hawkeyes displayed formidable teamwork throughout with an assist count double that of Nebraska at thirty assists which translated into higher efficiency and better ball movement leading them to victory. Their three-point shooting was particularly lethal as they hit fifteen shots from downtown achieving a high conversion rate of approximately forty-three percent.

As for rebounds, both teams were almost even with Nebraska grabbing thirty-four rebounds compared to Iowa's thirty-six; however it was not enough for The Cornhuskers as turnovers became costly despite having fewer than The Hawkeyes (eight versus six).

Looking ahead after this tough outing on enemy territory for The Cornhuskers fans can mark their calendars for when NEB will take on Rutgers Scarlet Knights at Jersey Mike's Arena in Piscataway on January seventeenth at six PM Central Time broadcasted nationally on BTN channel six hundred ten where supporters can follow all live-action hoping for a bounce-back performance from their team.
