Nevada Wolf Pack Set to Challenge San Diego State Aztecs at Viejas Arena

As the Nevada Wolf Pack prepare to face off against the San Diego State Aztecs, fans are looking forward to what promises to be a thrilling encounter at the Viejas Arena in San Diego. The upcoming game, scheduled for January 17th at 8:00 PM, will be a test of resilience and strategy for both teams.

Nevada Wolf Pack VS San Diego State Aztecs

The Wolf Pack's recent performance has been a mix of highs and lows. In their last game on January 13th against Boise State Broncos, they fell short with a final score of 56-64. Despite this loss, there were positive takeaways; NEV demonstrated an aggressive defense with 10 steals and managed to convert turnovers into 23 points. However, their shooting from beyond the arc was lackluster at only 25 percent success rate.

In contrast, NEV's victory over Air Force Falcons on January 10th showcased their ability to dominate on offense. They put up an impressive performance with a field goal percentage of 46 and went even higher from three-point range hitting an outstanding 47 percent. Their defensive efforts were equally commendable as they blocked five shots and limited turnovers to just ten.

One aspect that could play in favor of NEV is their ability to maintain composure under pressure which was evident when they outplayed Fresno State Bulldogs away from home earlier in the month with an assist-to-turnover ratio of 3.67 – a testament to their disciplined playmaking.

However, facing SDSU on their home court will not be easy; the Aztecs have shown themselves formidable opponents this season. The Wolf Pack will need more than just discipline; they'll require sharp shooting and relentless defense if they hope to come out victorious.

The key for NEV lies in improving two-point field goal percentage while maintaining strong perimeter defense against SDSU’s shooters who may capitalize on any lapse in concentration. Additionally, maximizing fast break opportunities could tilt the game in NEV's favor as it did during previous wins where fast break points proved crucial.

Wolf Pack fans should mark their calendars for this exciting matchup which is set for broadcast nationally on CBS Sports Network channel number 221. The energy within Viejas Arena come tip-off time will undoubtedly be electric as Nevada seeks another conference win under its belt.
