Nevada Wolf Pack Devours Spartans at Lawlor Events Center
The Nevada Wolf Pack continued their season with a dominant display against the San Jose State Spartans, culminating in a 90-60 victory. The Wolf Pack's record now stands at an impressive tally, while the Spartans' struggles were evident as they fell further behind in their campaign.
From the onset, the Nevada Wolf Pack set a blistering pace that the visiting Spartans struggled to match. The home team's offensive firepower was on full display as they racked up 49 points in the first half alone and continued their scoring spree with an additional 41 points in the second. Their shooting accuracy was remarkable, with a field goal percentage of 48 and an even more impressive three-point shooting rate of 48 percent.
The Wolf Pack's defensive prowess was equally noteworthy; they amassed seven steals and two blocks over the course of play. This defensive pressure contributed to ten turnovers by the Spartans, from which Nevada capitalized by adding 19 points to their tally.
On top of that, Nevada outperformed San Jose State on rebounds with a total count of 45 compared to Spartan's 31. This included grabbing more offensive rebounds (15) which led to them scoring an outstanding number of second-chance points (21). The team also demonstrated superior ball distribution and teamwork with a total of 23 assists versus San Jose State’s twelve.
San Jose State did not go down without showing some resistance though. They managed to convert half of their two-point attempts and added eight three-pointers but struggled from the free-throw line with only four made out of nine attempts for a free throw percentage rounding off at just above forty percent.
A packed crowd at Lawlor Events Center witnessed this conference game where attendance figures reached over eight thousand fans who saw their team tie once and overcome two lead changes before firmly establishing control over proceedings.
