New Mexico Lobos Set to Host Texas Southern Tigers at The Pit in Albuquerque

As the New Mexico Lobos prepare to host the Texas Southern Tigers at The Pit in Albuquerque, fans are eager for what promises to be an electrifying matchup. The Lobos have shown a pattern of robust performance on their home court, and this game is shaping up to be no exception.

Gonzaga Bulldogs VS New Mexico Lobos

In their last encounter with the Utah Valley Wolverines on March 16, the Lobos fell short by a score of 69-83. Despite this loss, there were positive takeaways for UNM. They demonstrated tenacity in points off turnovers with 13 and fast break points with 9. However, their shooting from beyond the arc was lackluster at just 21 percent and free throw accuracy was a mere 53 percent.

Contrastingly, during their face-off against Wyoming Cowboys on March 9, UNM emerged victorious with an impressive scoreline of 87-76. Their field goal percentage stood at a solid 48 percent and they excelled from the charity stripe hitting an outstanding 88 percent of free throws. Notably, they capitalized on turnovers scoring an impressive 18 points off them.

The upcoming game against TXSO will hinge heavily on UNM's ability to dominate inside the paint where they've consistently outperformed opponents and maintain defensive pressure that has led to high turnover scores in past games.

TXSO should not be underestimated though; any lapses in defensive concentration could give them opportunities to capitalize as seen when UNM faced Utah State Aggies back on March 10th resulting in a disappointing loss where they allowed USU to shoot at an efficient rate from three-point range (50 percent).

The key for UNM will be maintaining their strong defense without fouling excessively while also improving perimeter shooting which has been inconsistent throughout previous games. If they can manage this balance while leveraging their home-court advantage at The Pit—a venue known for its raucous atmosphere—they stand a good chance of securing another win for their record.

Fans should mark their calendars for November 6th when these two teams clash under the bright lights of The Pit starting at 7:30 PM local time (MDT). This game promises excitement and is sure not to disappoint fans who can catch all the action live via MW Network online broadcast networks.
