Lobos Dominate Wolf Pack with Stellar Shooting at The Pit

The New Mexico Lobos, ranked 25th, delivered a commanding performance against the Nevada Wolf Pack with an impressive 89-55 victory. The Lobos' season record now stands at an admirable tally, while the Wolf Pack's struggles continue. In a game that saw no lead changes or ties, the Lobos took control from the start and never looked back.


Nevada Wolf Pack VS New Mexico Lobos

At The Pit in Albuquerque, a crowd of 15,021 witnessed the Lobos' offensive clinic as they shot an outstanding 59 percent from the field and an exceptional 50 percent from beyond the arc. Their two-point shooting was particularly effective at 64 percent. Conversely, the Wolf Pack struggled to find their rhythm throughout the game, managing only a 34 percent field goal percentage and converting just 24 percent of their three-point attempts.


The home team's defense was equally impressive as they out-blocked their opponents with six blocks to four and out-stole them nine to four. This defensive pressure contributed to a total of fifteen turnovers for Nevada while New Mexico kept theirs to ten.


New Mexico also showcased superior ball distribution with eighteen assists compared to Nevada's nine. This teamwork led to twenty-five points off turnovers for New Mexico and allowed them only ten player turnovers against Nevada’s fifteen.


In terms of rebounding, both teams were nearly even with thirty-three rebounds for New Mexico and thirty-two for Nevada; however, it was how each team capitalized on these opportunities that made a difference. The Lobos managed ten second-chance points whereas Nevada scored thirteen.


Fast break points were another area where New Mexico excelled; they scored twenty-four fast break points demonstrating their ability to capitalize on quick transitions after defensive stops.
