Can the Lobos Outpace the Broncos at ExtraMile Arena?

As the New Mexico Lobos prepare to face off against the Boise State Broncos, fans are eager to see if their team can bounce back from a recent defeat. The upcoming clash scheduled for March 2nd at ExtraMile Arena is not just another game; it's a chance for redemption.

New Mexico Lobos VS Boise State Broncos

The Lobos' last outing on February 17th against the San Diego State Aztecs was a tough one. Despite scoring 70 points, they were outdone by an Aztecs team that put up 81 points. The statistics reveal some of UNM's struggles: shooting only 36 percent from the field and a mere 23 percent from beyond the arc. However, their free-throw accuracy was impressive at 91 percent, suggesting that when given opportunities at the line, they capitalize.

In contrast, Boise State has been known for their solid defense and will likely challenge UNM's shooters throughout the game. The Broncos' ability to limit opponents' scoring chances could be a significant factor in this matchup.

However, there is hope for UNM fans as we look back further to February 14th when their team edged out Nevada's Wolf Pack by one point in an exhilarating finish with an overall score of 83-82. That day saw them shoot an improved field goal percentage of 50 and convert on nearly half of their three-point attempts.

One key advantage for UNM could be their rebounding prowess as demonstrated in previous games; notably against UNLV on February 11th where they grabbed an impressive total of 41 rebounds compared to Runnin' Rebels’ tally of just under that number.

The Lobos have shown resilience and adaptability throughout this season which suggests that despite recent setbacks, they have what it takes to compete fiercely against BSU. Their ability to create turnovers and convert those into points will be crucial in setting up fast-break opportunities – something they've done effectively before with fast break points reaching double digits in past games.

As we approach game day, all eyes will be on how well UNM can execute offensively while maintaining defensive pressure against BSU’s formidable squad. It promises to be an intense battle where every possession counts and could ultimately come down to which team better manages turnovers and capitalizes on second-chance points.

Lobos supporters should mark their calendars for March 2nd at precisely six o'clock PM Mountain Time when these two teams take center stage at ExtraMile Arena in Boise. For those unable to attend in person, CBS Sports Network will broadcast all live action nationally on channel number two hundred twenty-one – ensuring fans won't miss a moment of what is sure to be a captivating encounter between these conference rivals.
